Surgical Intervention

Surgical intervention is sometimes necessary to provide definitive treatment to the patient, especially in Crohn's Disease. Broadly speaking, the main indication is failure of medical therapy or presence of complications.

  1. Intractable disease (steroid-dependency)
  2. Fistula
  3. Abscess
  4. Stricture/Obstruction
  5. Growth Retardation
  6. Perforation
  7. Extraintestinal disease
  8. Malignancy
